I realized last week to my great dismay that I had hardly taken any winter photos this year. What a blunder, considering all the snow we have received. So I took the boys with me to down to the water to check out the snowy ice. More photos tomorrow… #snow #sword #gymnastics #trees #boat #Family #water #ice #kids
In the past few posts (Gotland: Fårö, Is this better?) I have shows some photos from Gotland, the big island on our eastern sea border. We were there last month to visit my parents. They are there as missionaries for the LDS church, helping out in the small congregation at Visby. Gotland is a magical place, and to be there with my parents was truly fun. We don’t get to see them that often, as they have mostly lived in the US in the past years (we have family there as well).

Cats, Bugs, and Flowers We’ll start with the foul picture. Just wanted to show you how my legs (in macro) looked after walking around waist deep for 20 minutes in the “non-swimming” area of Lillsjön in Malexander. But it was worth it, getting close to those wonderful water-lilies. And some more flowers from Birgittas backyard… #waterlilies #photo #water #flowers #roses
Our daughter’s favorite spot in our home is the kitchen zink. She loves anything that has to do with washing the dishes etc. But a few weeks ago we did something else together besides washing the dishes. We agreed to take some bubble-photos. So we started by tapping the water… Hmm… Clara seems to want to do a bit of dish washing after all: her bottles. Okay, let’s do that too. “Clara, do you think we need more soap?”
“No, dad, that was maybe a liiiittle too much!” “But wait…
If it’s of any interest, here is an article about me and my thoughts on photography. The questions were given to me, and I wrote down the answers. It’s found in the net version of the photo magazine Kamera&Bild. They named it… Louis Herrey: Photo is a way to enjoy life. There is a new photo in the article: a waterdrop-splash-photo. I tried it out for the first time as an experiment. It turned out to be lots of fun! Have a best day!

The thought of the day comes from Lance Armstrong: “I take nothing for granted. I now have only good days or great days.” I like that approach. Perhaps the choices we have are not between good or bad, but between good and great. In other words, with a positive outlook my life will always be good, and with some extra effort it can even be great. I took this photo an early autumn morning. The sun is just rising, casting its rays on the water and the birch trees. I remember this
